Arrive in Addis Ababa and spend the afternoon exploring the city's birding hotspots, such as the Ghion Hotel gardens, known for species like the black-winged lovebird and the Tacazze sunbird.

Drive to Debre Libanos, home to the Gelada baboons and some rare bird species like the white-
cheeked turaco and Rüppell's griffon vulture. Continue to the Jemma Valley, one of the best
birdwatching areas in Ethiopia, where you can spot the endemic Harwood’s francolin.

Travel to Lake Ziway in the Rift Valley, a birdwatcher’s paradise where you can see large flocks
of pelicans, storks, kingfishers, and cormorants. Spend the day exploring the wetlands and
shores, watching the incredible diversity of birdlife.

Continue to Bale Mountains National Park, one of the richest habitats for bird species in
Ethiopia. Watch for rare birds like the blue-winged goose, Rouget’s rail, and wattled ibis,
alongside other endemic species.

Venture into the Harenna Forest, known for its rare bird species, including the Abyssinian
catbird and the white-backed black tit. The forest also provides a chance to spot various
mammals.

Return to Addis Ababa with a stop at Lake Langano to spot water birds like African fish eagles,
marabou storks, and white pelicans. Arrive in Addis for your departure.
